Tim Blake Nelson is set to make his grand return to the MCU as The Leader in Captain America: Brave New World. A new rumor suggests the actor may have a bigger role in the film than many may have expected.
The return of Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader was certainly a shock when it was announced, with many fans assuming he was another forgotten artifact from the MCU’s early days. Following the reveal that Harrison Ford would be taking over as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Captain America: Brave New World, many assumed Nelson would be relegated to a simple cameo. However, according to insider CanWeGetSomeToast, Nelson is set to play a key role in the villainous Serpent Society:
The Leader doesn’t have much, if any, history with the Serpent Society in the comics. However, given Captain America: Brave New World seems to be about the secret machinations of those in government like Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, it only makes sense Tim Blake Nelson would be controlling things behind the scenes in his MCU revival.
