Sinead O’Connor was laid to rest in Bray, Ireland on August 8. The Irish superstar died two weeks earlier, on July 26, at the age of 54. On the day of Sinead’s private funeral, thousands of fans gathered in Bray for the funeral procession. The crowd cried, cheered, and sang ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ while Sinead’s coffin was carried in a black car through the town. There were also memorials for Sinead in London, which is where she died.
Sinead was buried in a private funeral with only her family members and friends. Sinead converted to Islam before she died so she received a Muslim burial. The members of U2 and the President of Ireland were at the funeral. The public was not invited to the funeral but they still honored Sinead in their own way.
